Soft Skills

Soft Skills training focuses on personal and social attributes, such as communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving. Developing strong soft skills among staff is essential for an individual’s success and career development. Soft skills are crucial for meeting client’s needs, improving current relationships with clients and community members, building a stronger team dynamic, meeting organizational goals that can encourage systemic change, and much more.

Violence & Control, Resistance & Resilience

Violence and control training refers to training that builds understanding and knowledge on topics related to violence and control such as topics related to abuse and power imbalances. Resistance and resilience training refers to training that builds understanding and knowledge on ways in which individuals resist and survive experiences with violence, abuse of power, and control.

Compliance

Compliance training is workplace training mandated by legalisation, regulation, or policy. It educates employees on the laws and regulations applicable to their position’s function and responsibilities, the field they work in, or worker’s rights protection laws. Effective compliance training reduces poor conduct, ensures proper governance, attempts to safeguard organizations from legal and safety risks, and helps protect employees by creating more responsible and safe workplace environments. Compliance training also takes into consideration ethics and a commitment towards doing work ethically.

Culture, History and Diversity

Culture, history and diversity training promotes cultural responsiveness and inclusivity within the organization and aims to facilitate more culturally relevant and effective interactions between staff and between staff and clients. Culture, history and diversity training enhances understanding of how our past impact our present and future, and builds awareness around unfamiliar practices, beliefs, values, and experiences with the potential to reduce prejudice, bias and discrimination towards staff and clients. Encouraging training on history, culture, and diversity is an important step toward reducing the risk of workplace discrimination and harassment claims, as well as human-rights violations.

Counsellor Wellbeing

Counsellor wellbeing training refers to providing staff with skills and knowledge to promote a safe and healthy quality of life outside of the workplace. Recognizing the work of counsellors is difficult heartwork that contributes to building a sense of meaning and purpose within communities, it is vital for counsellors to discover and develop ways to decompress outside of work by strengthening a counsellors’ ability to emotionally regulate and by reducing the negative impact work can have on their personal lives. Wellness training reduces harm by supporting staff in building a better quality of life both in and outside of work, while increasing staff morale and promoting staff retention.

Leadership and Management

Leadership and management training develops employees in non-leadership and management positions into future leaders and supports existing leaders and managers maintain their thought leadership and expertise. Leadership and management development training provide several essential benefits to organizational growth such as understanding their roles and responsibilities, organizational culture and needs, communication styles and effective ways to communicate, improving leadership styles, building stronger and more effective teams, increasing employee morale and retention, developing talent from within, and much more.

Onboarding & Refreshers Recommendations

Onboarding training refers to the process of supporting new hires with the resources and knowledge they need to become effective in their role such as understanding their responsibilities, learning about the needs and experiences of the individuals (clients) they will serve, becoming familiar with organizational culture, and more.
By the end of onboarding, an employee must have a clear sense of their responsibilities and goals in the organization. They must also know how to obtain the resources they need to do their jobs and understand how their role contributes to their team’s and organization’s objectives.
Refresher training is designed to offer coaching or teaching on topics that staff (learners) have already encountered as a way to jog their memory/ remind them of their role and responsibilities and boost their knowledge.
