What is risk assessment?
Risk assessment is a decision making process that helps us determine future actions by assessing risk. There are three important elements of risk assessment:
Accountability
Risk assessment tools provide a basis for treatment on evidence, to back up staff decisions and provide effective service.
Safety
Risk assessment contributes to client safety by determining the level of risk and planning for safety.
Ethics
Risk assessment helps staff make decisions that are in the best interest of the client.
