Why would police blame the victim of sexual assault?
It’s frustrating to hear about a police investigation where they are obviously trying to blame the victim of sexual assault. Why? because the police do not want to do their jobs properly? Because the police in this case is male and feels that the young women deserves the assault? How would that police officer feel if it was his wife, girlfriend, sister, mother or aunt? The abuser needs to be interrogated not the victim, the victim needs to be questioned to understand what happened with sensitivity to the violence she just endured. Conducting a proper investigation should include the professionalism to do the job correctly without bias. How can women ever respect police when this sort of behaviour is present.
