Training Development Project for Family Violence Emergency Shelters

Through the generous support of Winnipeg Foundation and Thomas Sill Foundation, MAWS is starting a two year project to help build the capacity of shelter staff.  The goal is to ensure the best possible experience for victims of domestic and family violence and their children through building comprehensive training components focusing on the emerging complex needs.

Shelter staff are qualified domestic violence counsellors but more and more often staff are seeing complex issues that clients need help navigating through, this project will provide the tools for staff to safely and efficiently provide this service.
