Portage Family Abuse Prevention Centre gets $5000.00 Playroom upgrade from Ikea
Joyce Schrader, Executive Director -“I was made aware of the grant, and so were other shelters. They went through the applicants, and they chose us,” says Schrader. “We’re so grateful for that, and we’re very pleased that we were chosen because our playroom has been as it is for decades.”
David Ramey, Communications Specialist for Ikea Winnipeg shares why this grant is important.
“At Ikea, we believe all children have a right to play. We’ve been working with communities and organizations within our market area to ensure that all children regardless of circumstance, can get out there and experience the joy of play.”
He adds they were pleased to have this opportunity.
“We’re looking forward to providing a fun, vibrant, and safe place for kids while their mom is attending appointments or in meetings.”
Schrader notes this will be a huge morale booster for the centre.
