Second Stage Housing

ALPHA HOUSE Alpha House provides long term living for women and their children who have left abusive situations. Residents live in Alpha House for up to nine months while participating in one on one, children's counselling and support groups. 204-982-2011

BRAVESTONE CENTRE provides women and their children affected by domestic violence with secure and safe on-site housing, individual and group therapeutic counselling, support programs, advocacy, and connection with community resources. After completing our 12 month on-site program, families can participate in our 6-month Follow-up Program.   Counselling and support continues as they integrate back into the community and gain greater independence. 204-275-2600

Fort Garry Women’s Resource Centre ( FGWRC) is committed to creating a community where women and children are safe, healthy, valued and empowered. FGWRC provides free support and services for women and children including supportive counselling for a variety of issues, information and referrals, workshops and outreach programs.

Interlake Women's Resource Centre Inc.   The purpose of the Centre is to provide front-line services to abused women and their children. These services include and are not limited to crisis intervention, information and referral, advocacy, single and group counselling, and outreach programs. The Centre works with outside resources in order to ensure a continuum of service. The individuals utilizing the Centre identify their needs, which in turn, determine the programs and services of the Centre.

Circling Buffalo Inc.

Vision: We gather in unity to awaken the spirit and the will within honoring life.

Mandate: The Manitoba First Nations Board for Family Violence Prevention aims to empower our communities to build upon their strengths, communicate and network effectively, and provide prevention services through holistic, community-driven programming.

Circling Buffalo Inc. addresses gaps and issues surrounding family violence prevention initiatives in Manitoba’s First Nations.  INAC Manitoba Region worked with existing groups and organizations to find the most effective format.  Through the Social Development Advisors Technical Group, the Circling Buffalo Inc. was developed and was supported through the years 2008 to 2016.
